Facilities

Our fitness and Yoga facilities offer a variety of cross-training opportunities whether taking a class, a session with a trainer or on your own.

Climbing Facilities

Rockreation endeavors to bring all aspects of climbing to our visitors, whether they be seasoned veterans or first-time climbers. To keep up with the demands of the ever-growing climbing community, we strive to keep our facility up-to-date with new routes cycling in and making improvements whenever possible!

Top Roping

Rockreation LA offers 200+ top-rope routes of varying difficulty and terrain from our slab wall to steep overhangs. With new sections set every few weeks, you have plenty of routes available to train on over wide range of grades.

Bouldering

Our Bouldering area consists of three main sections, each offering something a little different. New routes are available every few weeks in grades from beginner-friendly to advanced.

Lead Climbing

Rockreation’s famous lead arch is the highlight of the gym. Though lead facilities include vertical and overhanging walls for lead-climbing only, the 65 foot arch presents the biggest challenge and a great spectacle. Run laps, challenge yourself or conquer a fear, the lead area has a little of everything to offer!

Traversing

For kids and adults, traversing is a great way to warm up for climbing, get an endurance workout in or just learn how to move on a vertical wall. Rockreation is traverse-friendly and even includes a traverse-only section in the Cove section of the gym. Routes along this section are often set to teach basic principals but can also just be climbed laterally as an anything-goes warm-up and workout.

Fitness & Yoga Facilities

We know climbing isn’t just about climbing for many of our visitors and at Rockreation we want to give you the tools to improve your training and diversify your selection of activities within our doors. We have a wide variety of equipment at your disposal and an evolving facility aiming to bring you the newest and best.

Weight/Resistance Training

Our new 1500 square foot fitness area offers a great selection of weight and resistance training equipment for almost any style workout. Come in for a class, a session with a personal trainer or just train on your own:

  • Medicine Balls
  • Free weights
  • Barbells and plates
  • Kettlebells
  • Parallettes, ab rollers, PVC rollers
  • Weight Sled
  • Resistance Bands
  • Adjustable bar and rack frame

Climbing/Grip Training

We cater to the training needs of our climbers! Our fitness area includes a wide variety of training tools to push your climbing to the next level:

  • Full campus board
  • Multiple hang boards
  • Various grip attachments to our bar frame
  • PVC roller and plate weights
  • Bands, arm slings and ab rollers

Cardio

We offer a selection of cardio equipment to round out your training:

  • Treadmill
  • Row Machine
  • Stationary Cycles
  • Elliptical
  • Stair Machine

Yoga and Stretching

Whether you’re in a yoga class, stretching or training on your own or just need to cushion the floor for your workout, we offer Yoga mats for use both downstairs at the front desk and upstairs in the fitness area. For stretching we offer:

  • Yoga mats
  • foam rollers
  • PVC poles
  • Bands
  • Lacrosse and tennis balls

Our Yoga room is equipped with a heater, full mirror and hardwood floor.
